Villanova vs. Georgetown Pick
Will No. 1 Villanova roll to another big win on the road when the Wildcats take on Georgetown tonight at 6:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Villanova is favored on the road, as the Wildcats are getting odds of -13 points against Georgetown. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 158 points. Tonight’s game takes place from the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. and will air live on FS1.
Villanova has won three straight since a loss at Butler back on Dec. 30. The Wildcats are 16-1 overall, 4-1 in the Big East and 11-6 against the spread. Nova has failed to cover in three of its last four games. The Wildcats are averaging 88.3 points per game on offense this season while allowing 69.6 per game on defense. Jalen Brunson is leading Villanova with 18.8 points and 5.2 assists per game while Mikal Bridges is adding 17.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest.
Georgetown has lost four of its last six, including a 74-61 loss at Seton Hall last weekend. The Hoys are now 12-5 overall, 2-4 in the Big East and 7-7 against the spread. G’Town is averaging 78.8 points per game this season while allowing 69.9 per contest. Jessie Govan is leading Georgetown with 17.6 points and 11.4 rebounds per game while Marcus Derrickson is adding 14.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Villanova has won six straight meetings with Georgetown, but the Hoyas have covered in three of their last five meetings. Georgetown played a pretty weak non-conference schedule and it has led to struggles in Big East play. They have dropped two of their last three by at least 13 points. Villanova has struggled to cover on the road, failing to do so in their last two, but they have still rolled teams like DePaul and Temple on the road. The public betting is slightly with Villanova and I will take the Wildcats as well.
