Oklahoma vs. Kansas State Pick
Will No. 4 Oklahoma go on the road and pick up a win over Kansas State when the two meet up tonight at 9PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Oklahoma is favored on the road, as the Sooners are getting odds of -2 points against Kansas State. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 164 points. Tonight’s game takes place from Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kansas and will air live on ESPNU.
Oklahoma is coming off a tough 102-97 OT win at home over TCU this weekend. The Sooners are 14-2 overall, 4-1 in the Big 12 and 7-8 against the spread. Oklahoma is averaging an impressive 93.6 points per game on offense this season while allowing 81.2 per contest. The Sooners are led by the current Player of the Year frontrunner, Trae Young. Young is averaging 30.1 points and 9.9 assists per game on the season while shooting 40.7 percent from the arc. Christian James is adding 12.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game for Oklahoma.
Kansas State is coming off a 73-72 loss at Kansas this weekend for its third loss in four games. K-State is 12-5 overall, 2-3 in the Big 12 and 5-9 against the spread. The Wildcats are averaging 76.3 points per game on offense while allowing 66.4 per game on defense. Kamau Stokes is out indefinitely with a foot injury. He averaged 13.4 points per game for Kansas State. Barry Brown is leading the team currently with 16.6 points per contest.
The home team has won five straight meetings in this series and Kansas State is 7-2-1 against the spread in the last 10 against Oklahoma. While the trends don’t look good for the Sooners, I can’t pick against Young in this one. He’s incredible to watch and finds ways to produce points for the Sooners. Kansas State has a great defense, but I think Young will be able to work around it. Kansas State doesn’t have the same offensive weapons and will be short-handed without Stokes. The public betting is also strongly with the Sooners and Young tonight.
