According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Wildcats are a 7-point road favorite against the Hoyas while the over/under currently sits at 138 for today’s 1:00PM ET tip-off. Villanova enters play with a 15-2 record and is 9-6 against the spread, while Georgetown is 11-6 overall and 9-6 at the betting window.
Why Georgetown:
The Hoyas have won five of their last six games and won four of those contests by double figures. The home team is also 6-0 against the spread in the last six meetings between these two teams while the Wildcats are winless at 0-5 ATS in their last five road games versus Georgetown.
Villanova hasn’t lost a Big East game since a 78-58 blowout loss to Georgetown in the downtown D.C. arena on January 19 of last year. Led by senior D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera, the Hoyas have the shooters to hang with the Wildcats and keep the game close on their home court. Beating ‘Nova outright will be a challenge, but there’s value in taking the 7 points on the home dog.
