Pirates ease past Golden Eagles
Seton Hall secured a 69-55 home victory Saturday afternoon at home over Marquette to improve to 12-4 overall and 4-0 in the Big East Conference. The Pirates outscored the Golden Eagles 29-18 in the second half to pull away. Myles Powell paced Seton Hall with 23 points on 8-of-22 shooting including 2-of-11 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He also registered seven rebounds, three steals and two assists. Romaro Gill added 10 points and six boards.
Bulldogs win sixth straight
Butler secured a 70-58 win Friday night at Providence to move to 15-1 overall and 3-0 in conference action. The Bulldogs held the Friars scoreless for the first six-and-a-half minutes and led 30-18 at halftime on their way to the triumph. Kamar Baldwin paced Butler with 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting including 2-of-2 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-8 at the charity stripe. He also notched seven rebounds and two assists. Jordan Tucker tallied 17 points and six boards off the bench. Bryce Golden contributed 14 points and nine caroms. Bryce Nze added 10 points and seven rebounds.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Pirates are 21-8 ATS in their last 29 games overall. Seton Hall is 5-2 ATS in its last seven road games.
The Bulldogs are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Butler is 8-3 ATS in its last 11 home games.
The Pirates have really taken it to the next level over the past four weeks and have beaten some talented teams, none better than Maryland at home to begin the streak on December 18. But the Bulldogs are a step up in class as they have not allowed more than 62 points in a game this season. This will be a battle between two teams ranked in the top 10 of adjusted defensive efficiency, but when it comes down to it I trust the Butler offense a little bit more at home to make key plays down the stretch.
