Tigers blast Bulldogs

Auburn rolled to an 82-60 home win Saturday to improve to 15-0 overall and 3-0 in Southeastern Conference play. The Tigers led 35-24 at halftime and continued to pull away after the break. Samir Doughty paced Auburn with 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting including 2-of-5 from 3-point distnace plus 3-of-7 at the free throw line. He also accumulated six rebounds and four assists. Allen Flanigan added 12 points, six boards and two steals.

Crimson Tide fall to Wildcats

Alabama lost by a score of 76-67 Saturday at Kentucky to drop to 8-7 overall and 1-2 in the SEC. The Crimson Tide trailed 45-35 at halftime and were unable to recover. Herbert Jones led Alabama with 18 points on 8-of-20 shooting plus 2-of-5 at the charity stripe. He also tallied seven rebounds and four assists. John Petty Jr. racked up 16 points, seven boards and four blocked shots. Kira Lewis Jr. added 10 points, eight caroms and four assists.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Tigers are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 road games. Auburn is 2-5 ATS in its last seven games as a favorite.

The Crimson Tide are 8-0 ATS in their last eight home games. Alabama is 4-1 ATS in its last five games as an underdog.

The Tigers have benefited from a weak schedule to date with only two wins over fringe top 50 programs in North Carolina State (home) and Mississippi State (away). But that is not to say they are not a very strong team and won't be charged up to go into a hostile road environment and silence a home crowd. The Crimson Tide are an inconsistent team and while I think they can match Auburn basket for basket most of the game, I trust the execution for the Tigers more down the stretch. I'm taking the favorites in what should be a close contest.
