Utes dropped by Ducks

Utah fell by a score of 69-64 at home eight days ago against Oregon to drop to 10-4 overall and 1-1 in the Pac 12 Conference. The Utes trailed 36-31 at halftime and was unable to recover. Both Gach paced Utah with 24 points on 9-of-20 shooting including 4-of-12 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-2 at the free throw line. He also dished out two assists. Timmy Allen contributed a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds. Mikael Jantunen added 10 points and two boards off the bench.

Buffaloes upended by Beavers

Colorado lost 76-68 at home last Sunday night versus Oregon State to fall to 12-3 overall and 1-1 in conference action. The Buffaloes were outscored 44-29 in the second half of the defeat. Tyler Bey led Colorado with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting including 1-of-1 from 3-point distance plus 3-of-3 at the charity stripe. He also recorded eight rebounds and three blocked shots. McKinley Wright IV accounted for 14 points, 10 assists and seven boards. Shane Gatling added 11 points and two caroms.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Utes are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games as a road underdog. The road team is 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings.

The Buffaloes are 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 home games. Colorado is 2-5 ATS in its last seven games as a home favorite.

The Buffaloes had an uncharacteristally brutal second half last week and were upset by Oregon State, then had to stew over it for a whole week waiting for a chance to reedem themselves. With how well Colorado typically plays at home, I expect a much cleaner effort here. The favorite has done well in this series as of late and while Utah is pretty good offensively, it should struggle a bit more against a strong Buffaloes defense. Conversely, the Utes are not that strong on the defensive end and I see Colorado taking advantage.
