Zaga on a win streak
Gonzaga has won six straight coming into tonight following a 67-36 win over Pacific at home on Thursday. The Bulldogs have covered the spread in all six wins, with the smallest spread being 26 points. Zaga is 15-2 on the season, 2-0 in the WCC, 1-1 on the road, 13-4 against the spread and 9-8 with the under.
Zaga has the second-best offense in the nation, putting up 92.0 points per game while shooting 52.7 percent from the field, which ranks tops in the nation. Defensively, Zaga is giving up 67.6 points per game while limiting opponents to 38.6 percent shooting from the field and 29.8 percent from the arc. Rui Hachimura is leading the team with 20.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while Brandon Clarke is adding 16.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per contest.
San Fran struggling to cover
San Francisco is coming off a 72-69 win at Pepperdine last weekend. The Dons have won seven of their last eight games, but are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games. The Dons are 14-2 on the season, 2-0 in the West Coast Conference, 9-0 at home, 8-5-2 against the spread and 8-7 with the under.
The Dons have one of the best defenses in the nation, allowing just 61.2 points per game while limiting opponents to 39 percent shooting from the field and 28.1 percent from the arc. Offensively, San Francisco is putting up 77.8 points per game while shooting 47.4 percent from the field. Charles Minlend is leading the team with 15.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while Frankie Ferrari is adding 13.3 points and 5.7 assists per contest.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Bulldogs have covered the spread in five straight following a win and in four straight conference games.
The Dons are 0-4 against the spread in their last four games following a win and 7-3-2 ATS in their last 12 home games.
Gonzaga has won its last 10 against San Francisco, winning all of them by at least eight points. The Bulldogs have been rolling, winning their last six games by at least 31 points. Their defense is truly locked in and has been tested by some top offenses this year. San Francisco has played some strong teams as well, but the Dons aren’t able to lock down on defense quite as well as Zaga. The Bulldogs also have a much better offense. I like Gonzaga to roll tonight.
College Basketball Prediction: Gonzaga -9.5
