Hoosiers fall at second-ranked U-M

Indiana dropped a 74-63 decision Sunday at Michigan to drop to 12-3 overall and 3-1 in Big Ten play. The Hoosiers trailed 44-29 at halftime and could not climb back after the break. Juwan Morgan paced IU with 25 points on 9-of-22 shooting including 2-of-5 from 3-point range plus 5-of-8 at the free throw line. He also pulled down eight rebounds. Romeo Langford added 17 points plus six boards and two assists. Indiana shot 23-of-54 from the floor, 5-of-14 from 3-point range and 12-of-16 at the charity stripe.

Terrapins win fourth straight

Maryland improved to 13-3 overall and 4-1 in Big Ten action Tuesday night with an 82-67 win at Minnesota. The Terrapins trailed by six at halftime, but outscored the Golden Gophers 48-27 in the second half to post the decisive victory. Maryland shot 26-of-48 from the floor including 6-of-10 from 3-point range plus 24-of-27 at the free throw line. Anthony Cowan Jr. paced the Terrapins with 27 points on 7-of-12 shooting plus 3-of-5 on 3-pointers and a perfect 10-of-10 at the free throw line. He also contributed six rebounds and five assists. Jalen Smith tallied 21 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Bruno Fernando added 11 points, 10 rebounds and two dimes.
