Bulldogs ease past Bluejays
Butler secured a 71-57 home win Saturday at home versus Creighton to improve to 14-1 overall and 2-0 in Big East Conference. The Bulldogs led 34-24 at halftime en route to the victory. Kamar Baldwin paced Butler with 20 points on 7-of-22 shooting including 1-of-8 from 3-point range plus 5-of-8 at the free throw line. He also grabbed three rebounds. Sean McDermott tallied 18 points and 11 boards. Aaron Thompson added 10 points, four caroms and two assists.
Friars edge Golden Eagles
Providence earned an 81-80 victory overtime win Tuesday night at Marquette to move to 10-6 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Friars were outscored 40-35 in the second half, but rebounded to outscore the Golden Eagles 14-13 in the extra session. Maliek White paced Providence with 19 points off the bench on 4-of-11 shooting including 2-of-5 from 3-point range plus 9-of-13 at the charity stripe. He also registered five rebounds and four assists. Nate Watson contributed 13 points, five boards and two steals. Alpha Diallo racked up 12 points, 11 caroms and three blocked shots. College Basketball Betting Trends
The Bulldogs are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games. Butler is 9-4 ATS in its last 13 games as a favorite.
The home team is 8-1 ATS in the last nine meetings. The underdog is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings.
The Bulldogs are ranked fifth nationally in adjusted defensive efficiency and have not allowed more than 67 points in a game this season. The Friars also lean on their defense, but is the weaker team on the offensive end. Butler has been strong on the road this season with its one loss being a one-point defeat at Baylor. I'm taking the stronger team here and am surprised the spread isn't a point or two wider.
