Aztecs take down Aggies

San Diego State earned a 77-68 victory as underdogs Saturday night at Utah State to improve to 15-0 overall and 4-0 in Mountain West Conference action. The Aztecs led 34-27 at halftime and held on from there. Malachi Flynn paced SDSU with 22 points on 5-of-9 shooting including 2-of-5 from 3-point distance plus 10-of-10 at the free throw line. He also recorded five rebounds and four assists. Matt Mitchell had 19 points, seven boards and two steals. Jordan Schakel tallied 11 points and two caroms. Yanni Wetzell added 10 points and five rebounds.

Cowboys fall at Rams

Wyoming lost by a score of 72-61 Saturday at Colorado State to drop to 5-11 overall and 0-4 in conference play. Hunter Maldonado led the Cowboys with 25 points on 8-of-19 shooting including 4-of-7 from 3-point range plus 5-of-7 at the charity stripe. He also accumulated six rebounds and four assists. Jake Hendricks tallied 12 points, four steals and two boards. Kenny Foster added 10 points and two caroms off the bench. Wyoming trailed 32-19 at halftime and was unable to recover.

College Basketball Betting Trends

San Diego State

The Aztecs are 5-0 ATS in their last five games as a road favorite. San Diego State is 5-2 ATS in its last seven Wednesday games.

The Cowboys are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. Wyoming is 7-3-1 ATS in its last 11 Wednesday games.

The Cowboys are barely inside the top 300 and SDSU already has a 17-point road win this season at a much better San Diego squad and a 22-point win at an even better Colorado State team. Neither of those road opponents are all that good, but Wyoming is fairly terrible. This is a big spread to cover, but look for the Aztecs defense to overwhelm one of the worst offenses in the country as they gradually pull away.
