Jayhawks take down Sooners
Kansas compiled a big first half last Saturday in a 70-63 home win over Oklahoma. The Jayhawks led 40-25 at halftime en route to the victory. Kansas shot 26-of-63 from the floor including 4-of-21 on 3-point attempts plus 14-of-22 at the free throw line. Devon Dotson contributed 16 points on 4-of-10 shooting including 1-of-3 from 3-point range plus 7-of-8 at the free throw line to place the Jayhawks. He also had five boards and four steals. Quentin Grimes had 14 points and two caroms. Dedric Lawson registered 13 points to go with 13 rebounds and three blocked shots. Lagerald Vick added 12 points, four rebounds and three steals.
Cyclones secure fourth win in a row
Iowa State won its Big 12 Conference opener Wednesday night at Oklahoma State with a 69-63 triumph. Marial Shayok led the Cyclones with 17 points on 4-of-17 shooting including 3-of-11 from 3-points range and 6-of-6 at the charity stripe. Lindell Wigginton recorded 17 points off the bench to go with eight boards and two assists. Nick Weiler-Babb contributed 15 points, five caroms, four assists and three steals. Tyrese Haliburton added 12 points, four rebounds and three dimes. Iowa State outscored the hosts 34-27 in the second half to grab the win. College Basketball Betting Trends
Kansas
The Jayhawks are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games. Kansas is 1-6 ATS in its last seven Saturday games.
Iowa State
The Cyclones are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six home games. Iowa State is 6-2-1 ATS in its last nine games overall.
Prediction:
Expect this contest to go right down to the wire and with Kansas having lost its only true road game this season at Arizona State, look for this to be a difficult challenge at an Iowa State squad that seems to always play well against Iowa State. Both teams are better at the offensive end of the floor than on defense and with Iowa State having the benefit of home-court advantage, I think the hosts get enough stops down the stretch to cover this spread.
