Georgia Tech is coming off a shocking upset of North Carolina, beating the Tar Heels 75-63 as a 17-point home underdog over the weekend. It was the Yellow Jackets’ third straight win and their fifth victory in their last six games. Duke will need to contain Ben Lammers, who averages 14.6 points per game, 10.1 rebounds and 3.6 blocks per game, plus averages 58.5 from the field, which is the best mark on the team as well.
While Georgia Tech is coming off its best win of the season, Duke is coming off its worst loss. Without suspended guard Grayson Allen, the Blue Devils were trounced 89-75 at Virginia Tech as a 4.5-point favorite on Saturday. Luke Kennard’s 34 points weren’t enough as the team shot 41.8-percent from the field. Kennard leads the team in points with 21.4 per contest while Amile Jefferson is averaging 10.9 rebounds and 1.8 blocks.

OUR PREDICTION: Even without Allen and coach Mike Krzyzewski (who is sidelined following back surgery), bettors are going to get a focused effort from Duke tonight. The Blue Devils are 9-3 against the spread in their last 12 home games versus Georgia Tech and are 4-1 at the betting window in their last five games overall versus the Yellow Jackets. GA Tech is also 2-5 against the spread in its last seven games as an underdog and is 1-4 at the betting window in its last five road games following three or more consecutive home games.
