North Carolina vs. Florida State Pick

College Basketball Predictions: North Carolina vs. Florida State 1/3/18

Can No. 12 North Carolina avoid being beaten on the road when the Tar Heels face No. 24 Florida State tonight at 7PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at, Florida State is the slim favorite at home, as the Seminoles are getting odds of -1 point against North Carolina. The over/under total for the game has been set at 163.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Florida and airs live on ESPN2.

North Carolina is coming off a 73-69 win over Wake Forest at home on Saturday. The Tar Heels are now 12-2 overall and 8-5 against the spread. UNC has failed to cover in two of its last three games. The Tar Heels are averaging 85.2 points per game this season while allowing 71.7 per contest. Luke Maye is leading the team with 18.4 points and 10.9 rebounds per game while Joel Berry II is adding 17.2 points per contest.

Florida State opened conference play with a 100-93 loss at Duke on Saturday. FSU is now 11-2 on the season and 9-2 against the spread. The Seminoles have covered in two straight games. FSU is averaging 85.7 points per game on offense while allowing 67.5 per contest. At home, the Seminoles are putting up 93.5 points per contest. Terance Mann is leading FSU with 14.6 points and 6 rebounds per game while Phil Cofer has 14.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest.

Bet on North Carolina vs. Florida State

UNC has won seven straight meetings in the series, covering the spread in six of their seven wins. FSU has been playing well lately and competed at Duke last weekend, but I am not sure the Seminoles will be able to end this streak against North Carolina. The Heels have been streaky, but still have very good talent. I think UNC getting points on the road here is worth jumping on. The public betting is with UNC slightly, and I think the Heels will cover as well.
