EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) – Andrew Brown scored a game-high 32 points, and Lafayette defeated Mount St. Mary’s, Md. 76-72.
Michael Gruner’s jumper with 13:30 remaining in the game gave Lafayette a 59-37 lead and the Leopards (8-3) held a 65-45 lead with 10:05 on the clock.
The Mount (6-5) responded with a 28-to-7 run, capped by Will Holland’s three-pointer with 40 seconds remaining to cut the Lafayette lead to 73-72.
On the ensuing possession, Brown sank his ninth three-pointer of the game from the top of the key to seal the victory.
Chris Vann scored a team-high 27 points to pace the Mount, which saw its six-game winning streak ended.
