LOS ANGELES (AP) – Calvin Chitwood scored 20 points to lead Cal State Northridge to a 94-49 rout against Vanguard, an NAIA-affiliated school Thursday.
Deon Tresvant added 15 points for the Matadors (7-2), whose margin of victory was the ninth largest in school history, tying with 45-point wins against the College of Idaho (Dec. 20, 1967) and L.A. Baptist (now The Master’s College; Dec. 12, 1981).
Josh Jenkins earned his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 assists, and Jonathan Heard scored 14 points.
Andrew Ellis led Vanguard (7-3) with 14 points and Greg Scott scored 11 points.
After the Lions took an 8-6 lead on Dennis Heenan’s 3-pointer with 17:50 to play in the first half, Northridge went on a 42-12 run that covered the remainder of the half.
