NEW YORK (AP) -Jaytornah Wisseh scored 13 points and LIU extended its winning streak to five with a 67-62 victory over St. Peter’s on Thursday night.
Eugene Kotorobai added 11 points for the Blackbirds (9-3).
Wesley Jenkins scored 21 for the Peacocks (3-7), who lost their fifth straight. Todd Sowell was next with 16 points.
After Nick Leon hit a jumper to get the Peacocks even at 10:05 of the second half, the Blackbirds used an eight-point run to go up 56-48. The spurt was highlighted by a pair of 3-pointers by Kotorobai and Kyle Johnson.
St. Peter’s got within 64-62 on a jumper by Sowell with 1:05 left, but Wisseh made two of LIU’s final three free throws to seal the victory.
