PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Darryl Monroe had nine points and five rebounds to help George Mason to a last-second win over Drexel, 56-55, on Saturday.
With three seconds remaining and Drexel (2-2, 0-1 Colonial Athletic League) down by three, Scott Rodgers drove to the basket and was intentionally fouled by Monroe, giving Rodgers two shots and the Dragons the ball back.
After Rodgers made both shots, Evan Neisler missed a fall-away jumper at the buzzer.
Eight of nine Patriots that entered the game scored for George Mason (6-2, 1-0).
The Patriots went on a 17-4 run to start the second half. Dre Smith's three-point play gave the Patriots a 17-point lead, their largest of the game, at 15:44.

George Mason started out slow, but used an 11-2 run to earn a 27-23 lead at the break.
