PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Rob Garrison tied his career high with 19 points and Niagra broke open a close game late in the first half, beating Hartford 103-63 and winning the Liberty Bracket championship of the Philly Hoop Group Classic at the Palestra.
Bilal Benn had 18 points and career-best 12 rebounds for Niagra (5-1), while Tyrone Lewis added 14 points and was named MVP of the bracket.
Morgan Sabia had 14 points and Michael Turner 13 for the Hawks (2-5).
Leading 34-26 with 6:02 left in the first half, the Purple Eagles scored the final 18 points of the stanza, including 3-pointers by Garrison and Lewis, to take a 52-26 lead at the break.
Niagra had 16 assists in the half and made 17 of 34 shots, including 9-for-18 from 3-point distance.

Niagra made a single-game school record 17 3-pointers on 36 attempts.
