GREELEY, Colo. (AP) -The University of Northern Colorado, playing without three starters, beat Johnson and Wales 62-51 in a turnover-plagued game.
Both teams shot below 40 percent and together they committed 61 turnovers.
UNC coach Tad Boyle, whose Bears had one more turnover than the losers, said the mistakes were ridiculous because the Wildcats weren’t even pressing them.
Freshman Taylor Montgomery led the winners with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Sasha Pate led the Wildcats with 17 points. Guard M.J. Crespin led the losers with seven rebounds.
