MANKATO, Minn. (AP) -Brandon Romain set a Pepsi Tip-Off Classic record with 41 points Saturday to lead Post University to a 102-94 win over South Dakota.
The 196 combined points also were a tournament record.
South Dakota (1-3) jumped out to a 17-0 lead after five minutes. But Post (3-1) came back strong, taking a 38-36 lead at the half. It shot 61 percent from the field and made eight of 13 3-pointers in the second half.
A.J. Reiter added 16 points and Omar Robinson 14 for Post, which took the lead for good on a Romain layup with just less than eight minutes to play.
Tyler Cain had 33 points, 14 rebounds and two blocked shots for the Coyotes. Mitch Begeman added 18 points and Steve Smith 17.
