BOSTON (AP) -John Holland scored 26 points and Corey Lowe sank two key free throws as Boston University held on for a 67-62 win over St. Peter’s on Saturday.
With BU (2-1) leading by one point early in the second half, Holland scored nine straight to give his team a 10-point lead with 16:30 left. The lead grew to as many as 13, and BU led by eight with just under two minutes remaining.
But St. Peter’s (0-3) closed to within 64-62 with 21 seconds remaining on two foul shots by Wesley Jenkins. On BU’s next possession, Lowe hit two free throws to ice the game. Lowe finished with 15 points.
Jenkins led the Peacocks with 17 points and Nick Leon scored all 16 of his points in the second half.
St. Peter’s was hurt by 22 turnovers.
