BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) – Jordan Dykstra scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Cody Larson had 13 points and 12 boards as South Dakota State had no problem with Southwest Minnesota State on Monday.
The Jackrabbits (1-3) shot 52.5 percent with Brayden Carlson getting 16 points, Chad White 13 and Anders Broman 10 off the bench.
The Mustangs (1-2) were led by reserve Dole Martin with 11 points. They struggled shooting, making just 24 of 72 shots, including 3 of 18 from 3-point range.
South Dakota State had a 48-37 rebounding advantage and shot 53 percent from the field.
After an early 6-6 tie the Jackrabbits used a 15-0 run to take control. The Mustangs cut the margin to 37-29 at the half and got it down to four but a 12-1 run put the lead in double figures for the remainder of the game.
