AUBURN, Ala. (AP) – Jalan West scored a career-high 30 points to lead Northwestern State to a 111-92 comeback victory over Auburn on Friday night.
Gary Stewart added 23 for Northwestern State (2-0) on 5-of-8 3-pointers. The Demons were 14-of-27 from deep in the victory after going 0-for-17 on 3-pointers in their season-opening win against Division III opponent LeTourneau.
Northwestern State, which had five players in double figures, overcame a nine-point halftime deficit by shooting 68 percent from the field in the second half. The Demons went on an 18-2 run late in the game to seal the victory against the host Tigers.
Chris Denson scored a career-high 29 points in the loss for Auburn (1-1), with 20 coming in the first half. KT Harrell added 21 for the Tigers despite shooting only 2-for-11 from 3-point range.
