MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -A University of Minnesota spokesman says suspended freshman forward Royce White is being investigated in the theft of a laptop computer at campus dormitory.
Gophers spokesman Garry Bowman said Wednesday he doesn’t have details other than police are investigating the theft and White’s name came up.
Campus Deputy Police Chief Chuck Miner says he can’t confirm White is a suspect because the investigation is ongoing and because of data privacy laws. He says the laptop was stolen from a student’s room Saturday night and police have suspects.
White did not immediately return a phone message Wednesday. He already faces charges after being accused of shoplifting and shoving a guard at the Mall of America Oct. 13.
The 25th-ranked Gophers open the season Nov. 13 against Tennessee Tech.
