SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) -Lazarius Coleman scored 16 points and had 9 rebounds to lead Savannah State to a season-opening 88-48 victory over Carver Bible College on Friday night.
The Tigers never trailed and led the rest of the way after Joseph Flegler broke a 4-4 tie with a layup with 16:05 left in the first half.
The Tigers built a 38-20 halftime lead and kept pulling away in the second half. Flegler also had the final basket in the game with 2:11 to give the Tigers their biggest lead of the game, 88-48.
Chris Linton added 13 points and Flegler 12 for the Tigers, who had 13 different players to score in the game.
Joshua Caston led the Cougars (1-4) from Atlanta with 13 points and Jeremy Russell added 10.
