BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -Andy Beilke’s 3-pointer with 3:14 left gave Southwest Minnesota State its first lead, and the Mustangs went on to beat South Dakota State 70-65 in an exhibition game on Monday.
SMSU never trailed after taking the lead. The Mustangs were 20-for-30 from the free throw line.
Andrew Peschong led the Mustangs with 15 points and Beilke added 13.
Garrett Callahan had 20 points and Kai Williams 11 and eight rebounds for the Jackrabbits.
SDSU made just one of 13 3-point attempts.
