SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -Forward Luke Harangody says low expectations for Notre Dame’s basketball season can be a good thing.
Harangody says the Fighting Irish are in position to shock people.
They always seem to defy expectations.
Three years ago, the Irish were picked to finish 11th in the Big East and ended the year in fourth place. Two years ago they were picked to finish ninth and tied for second.
Then last season the Irish opened the season ranked No. 9 and were picked to finish fourth in the league. They finished in 10th place and ended the season 21-15 after settling for an NIT berth.
Harangody says the team’s goal is to get back to the NCAA tournament.
