BOSTON (AP) - It was one of Harvard's best basketball seasons with an Ivy League title and its first NCAA tournament appearance in 66 years.
The Ivy League university even was part of an NBA sensation last season when former Crimson guard Jeremy Lin emerged from obscurity to star for a short time as the point guard for the New York Knicks.
But now coach Tommy Amaker is preparing for a season without two of his top players following an investigation into academic cheating. Kyle Casey and Brandyn Curry are not on this year's team, leaving Harvard with just two seniors. Amaker said Tuesday that things won't always go well but seemed upbeat about his team's ability to deal with the setback.
The Crimson open the season on Nov. 9 against MIT.
