WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -Wake Forest coach Dino Gaudio has hired former NBA player Rusty LaRue as an assistant coach.
The school made the announcement Wednesday.
LaRue was inducted into the Wake Forest Sports Hall of Fame last year. He played parts of three seasons for the Chicago Bulls, along with stints for Utah and Golden State.
As a junior in 1995, LaRue became the second athlete in Atlantic Coast Conference history to play football, basketball and baseball in the same year.
The 35-year-old LaRue returns to his alma mater from Forsyth Country Day School in nearby Lewisville. He was the school’s athletic director and boys basketball coach.
He replaces Pat Kelsey, who joined Xavier’s staff last month.
