BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -Western Kentucky’s search for a new basketball coach won’t include Bob Knight.
University spokesman Bob Edwards said Thursday there was no truth to speculation that Knight would replace Darrin Horn, who left earlier this week to become the coach at South Carolina.
Edwards said university president Gary Ransdell and athletic director Wood Selig came forward on Wednesday night to address the situation after hearing various reports that Knight was spotted in the area on Tuesday.
Knight resigned from Texas Tech in February as the winningest men’s coach in NCAA Division I history with 902 victories. He will do analysis for ESPN during the Final Four this weekend in San Antonio.
