M cruised to a 69-50 win over Bethune-Cookman on Thursday in both teams’ final regular season Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game.
The Rattlers broke open a 10-point game with a 12-2 run to open the second half. FAMU led by as many as 27 points in the second half and never trailed in the game.
Twitty added seven rebounds and five assists, and made all three of his 3-point attempts. Jon Mason scored 13 points and had three steals, Akini Akini had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Leslie Robinson added 10.
FAMU (14-16) shot 50-percent from the field and scored 17 points off of 15 Bethune-Cookman turnovers on its way to its fifth straight win.
John Holmes led the Wildcats (11-20) with a game-high 20 points. Joey Woods added 11 for Bethune-Cookman, who has now lost six of its last seven games.
The Rattlers scored the game’s first 10 points on their way to a 30-20 halftime lead.
