NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -Emmanuel Jones had a double-double, with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, leading visiting Texas-Pan American to a 63-49 win over New Jersey Institute of Technology Tuesday night.
Jones, one of three double-figure scorers for the Broncs (10-17), got nine of his points in the second half. Texas-Pan American outscored NJIT (1-29) by 13 over the final 20 minutes, pulling away from a 26-25 halftime lead.
Luis Valera came off the bench to score a team-leading 14 points for Texas-Pan Am, while Nick Weiermiller added 13 points.
NJIT got a game-high 17 points from Jheryl Wilson, but he was the only double-figure scorer for the Highlanders.
Texas-Pan Am took control of the game on the defensive end, holding NJIT to 10 points through the first 13:40 of the second half.
