GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) -Cory Farmer scored 20 points and East Carolina snapped a five-game losing streak by routing SMU 84-52 on Wednesday night.
Sam Hinnant scored 15 points and Jamar Abrams and John Fields added 14 apiece for the Pirates (9-17, 3-10 Conference USA), who shot nearly 52 percent in moving one spot above the Mustangs into 10th place in the league standings.
Gabe Blair finished with 10 points for East Carolina, which had lost nine of 10 before with the only victory in that span coming against last-place Rice.
Papa Dia scored 16 points and Derrick Roberts had 12 for SMU, which was just 3-of-18 from 3-point range.
The Pirates shot 58.6 percent in the first half and built a 25-point halftime lead. East Carolina finished 15-for-24 from beyond the arc.
