SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) -Rashad Hassan scored 18 points on 9 of 10 shooting to lead Savannah State to a 103-44 win over Carver Bible College on Thursday night.
Anthony Jones shot 8-for-10 from the field to score 17 points, and Arnold Lewis added 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Tigers (14-14).
Savannah State built an early 10-point lead in the first six minutes, after a dunk by Jones made the score 14-4 with 14:10 left in the first half. The Tigers then used a 22-9 run to lead 36-13 after Jovonni Shuler made a 3-pointer with 5:13 remaining. At halftime, Carver Bible College trailed 51-18.
The Tigers shot 54.9 percent from the field (45-for-82), while the Cougars shot only 25 percent (15-for-60). Savannah State also outrebounded Carver Bible College 59-30.
The Cougars (1-26) were led by Chris Dudley, who scored 17 points.
