YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) -Vytas Sulskis scored 18 points while DeAndre Mays and Tom Parks each added 13 Saturday, leading Youngstown State past Saint Peter’s College, 68-84.
The Penguins (11-16) led the final 16 minutes of the game but couldn’t build much of an edge over the Peacocks (9-18) in the nonconference match.
Wesley Jenkins paced Saint Peter’s with 19 points, Nick Leon scored 18 and Ryan Bacon added 15.
Early on, Saint Peter’s led 13-6 at the 14:19 mark, but then Youngstown State went on a 12-5 run to tie the game. The Penguins led 32-30 at the half. Jenkins closed the half with consecutive 3-pointers for the Peacocks.
Youngstown State managed a win while shooting 37.9 percent from the field. Saint Peter’s shot 42 percent.
