FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) -Casey Wohlleb scored 19 points as Fla. Gulf Coast rallied for a 70-67 win over South Carolina-Upstate on Sunday in Atlantic Sun Conference action.
Landon Adler added 16 points 14 in the second half as Fla. Gulf Coast (9-15, 5-6) rallied from a 36-24 halftime deficit. Delvin Franklins 3-pointer gave the Eagles the lead for good at 60-58 with 6:31 left.
They increased the lead to as many as six points. South Carolina-Upstate (6-19, 4-7) came back and had a chance to tie but Luke Payne’s 3-pointer at the buzzer fell short.
Payne scored 15 for the Spartans while Josh Chavis and Jeremy Byrd both had 12 points.
Both Fla. Gulf Coast and South Carolina-Upstate are in their first seasons in Division I and the Atlantic Sun Conference.
