CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) – North Carolina coach Roy Williams says P.J. Hairston is doubtful for Tuesday’s game against Wake Forest.
The sophomore guard suffered a concussion last week at Boston College and missed Saturday’s overtime win against Virginia Tech. Williams said Monday that Hairston was at Sunday’s practice for shooting and light work, but Hairston picked up “a little flu bug” that night that had him throwing up and eventually taking IV fluids. Williams said Hairston is “highly unlikely” to play Tuesday.
It’s unclear whether Hairston has been cleared to return from the concussion that kept him out of Saturday’s game.
Williams said sophomore center Desmond Hubert was also sick Sunday with a bug that’s “just going through our team.”
Hairston is third on the team in scoring at around 12 points per game.
