ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) – Jason Guerrier came off the Albany bench to score 18 points and Albany’s bench outscored Binghamton’s by 35 points in a 79-46 rout Saturday night in America East play.
The Great Danes (17-7, 6-4) stormed to a 40-14 halftime lead and were never challenged. Albany never trailed, and led by as many as 37 points in the second half as its bench outscored Binghamton’s 37-2.
Guerrier’s 18 points included 5-of-7 3-point shooting. Albany was 11 of 23 from long range, Jacob Iati (16 points) sinking 4 of 6 3-point attempts. Mike Black added 13 points for Albany, while Binghamton was just 2 of 12 on 3-pointers.
Brian Freeman and Jordan Reed scored 14 points apiece for Binghamton (3-19, 1-8). Jimmy Gray added 12. Those three accounted for all but six of the Bearcats’ points.
Binghamton was 19-for-47 shooting (40.4 percent). Albany was 31 for 56 (55.4 percent).
