FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) -Lamar Barrett had 20 points and eight assists and four other Longwood players scored in double figures Thursday night as the Lancers ended an eight-game losing streak with a 102-73 rout of Southern Virginia.
The Lancers (5-20) shot nearly 68 percent in the first half on their way to a 54-34 lead. They hit 9 of 12 3-point shots in the opening 20 minutes.
Bryce Pendleton led Southern Virginia (8-11) with 20 points and Tanner Johnson had 13, but the visitors shot just 34.8 percent, and just 27.5 percent after halftime.
Kirk Williams added 18 points, Durann Neil 16, Ryan Bogan 15 and Billy Robinson Jr. 11 for the Lancers, who made 15 of 26 shots from 3-point range, or 57.7 percent.
