CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) – Nicke Bahe scored 15 points and Dane Watts added 14 as Creighton beat Northern Iowa 68-59 Tuesday night.
Creighton (13-3, 4-2 Missouri Valley Conference) was in control most of the game and led by 17 points early in the second half. The Blue Jays hit 10 3-pointers – six in the first half – to beat Northern Iowa for the eighth straight time.
Travis Brown led Northern Iowa (10-7, 2-4) with 13 points, and Eric Coleman added 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Panthers, whose biggest lead was two points, trailed 35-28 at halftime. Creighton then got hot, cushioning its lead by another 10 points by the 16:45 mark.
The Blue Jays sealed the win from the line, hitting 13 of their 16 free-throw attempts in the second half. They attempted only one free throw before halftime.
Creighton shot 42.3 percent from the floor and outrebounded the Panthers 36-30.
Northern Iowa, which has lost four straight, outscored Creighton 26-16 in the paint but shot only 34.6 percent from the floor in the second half.
