The John Wooden Award is given annually to the best player in men’s college basketball each season and the odds are out for which player will win the honor this year.

This year’s award seems to be coming down to a few players, and freshman John Wall is the favorite to win the honor.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Brobury Sports have made Wall a 6/5 favorite to win the 2010 John Wooden Award. Other short odds to win are Evan Turner (7/4), and Scottie Reynolds (6/1).

Wall is the freshman sensation for

Kentucky. Wall has led the Wildcats to a 26-1 record so far this season and an 11-1 mark in the SEC. Wall is averaging 16.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per-game this season. Wall ranks fifth in the country in assists.

Turner is a junior guard/forward for

Ohio
State. He has led the Buckeyes to a 22-7 record and a 12-4 mark in the Big Ten Conference. On the year, Turner is averaging 19.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists on the year. He also is picking up 1.9 steals per-game. Turner ranks 32^nd in the nation in scoring, 42^nd in rebounding, and 15^th in assists.

Reynolds is a senior guard for Villanova. He has led the Wildcats to a 23-4 record on the year and a 12-3 mark in the competitive Big East Conference. Reynolds is scoring 19 points per-game while dishing out 3.3 assists per-game and picking up 1.6 steals per-game. He is shooting 49 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from 3-point land.
