DALLAS (AP) -Los Angeles Clippers reserve center Paul Davis left Friday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks in the second quarter with a sprained right knee.
Davis landed awkwardly as he was running to get back on defense. He immediately fell to the ground clutching his right knee with 8:53 left in the first half.
Two Clippers players had to help Davis off the floor. He was not putting any pressure on his right leg.
Davis, a second-year player from Michigan State, has averaged 2.4 points and 2.1 rebounds in 21 games.
This is potentially another blow for the Clippers, who have battled injuries all season.
Forward Elton Brand ruptured his left Achilles tendon over the summer and hasn’t played a game. Guard Shaun Livingston is still trying to recover from a dislocated left knee injury he suffered last season, and guard Sam Cassell missed his 12th straight game Friday with a strained left calf.
