WASHINGTON (AP) -Ben Wallace sat out the Chicago Bulls’ game against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night because of a sore left foot.
It’s the first game he has missed this season, although Wallace and coach Scott Skiles said the foot has been a problem for a while.
“I’ve got bone spurs on the top of my foot,” Wallace said. “It bothered me last night more than any other time.”
He had two points and five rebounds in Chicago’s 103-91 home loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.
“It flared up on him during the game and postgame last night,” Skiles said.
Wallace said he had an MRI exam Wednesday that showed he does not have a stress fracture in the foot.
Skiles expects Wallace to skip practice Thursday, but neither was sure how long the player will be out.
“Not sure. Just got to play it by ear,” Wallace said. “Day to day.”
