EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -The New Jersey Nets signed guard Eddie Gill on Friday to replace backup point guard Darrell Armstrong, who is sidelined because of a thigh injury.
A five-year veteran, Gill averaged 4.3 points, 3.8 assists and 2.5 rebounds in four preseason games with the Nets before being cut. He averaged 3.1 points and 1.1 assists in 167 career games.
Armstrong, who injured his thigh in the loss against Boston on Wednesday, is expected to be sidelined up to a month.
