SAN ANTONIO (AP) -Tony Parker will miss four weeks after an MRI confirmed that the Spurs’ star guard has a grade 2 left ankle sprain.
Parker was injured during a 99-83 loss to the Miami Heat on Friday, two nights after scoring a career-high 55 points against the Timberwolves. He was driving for a layup when he rolled the ankle.
Parker, 26, was using crutches and was wearing a protective boot on his lower leg while watching practice Sunday.
The Spurs are 1-4 and off to their worst start since going 1-5 in 1996. They play Tuesday at home against the New York Knicks.
Parker will be replaced in the lineup by either rookie George Hill or 12th-year veteran Jacques Vaughan. Hill took Parker’s place after the injury.
