INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) - Cavaliers coach Byron Scott says Kyrie Irving's broken hand is completely healed, and the star guard will not be limited during training camp.
Irving broke his right hand in July when he slapped a padded wall in frustration during practice in Las Vegas. Scott expects the NBA's reigning rookie of the year to be better than he was last year.
The coach wants Irving to be a more vocal leader on this young team. He believes Irving is ready to take charge and is more comfortable because of his experience last season.
Scott is not concerned about Irving's history of injuries. He missed 15 games last season with a concussion and shoulder injury. He played only 11 games as a freshman at Duke because of a foot injury.
