PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Philadelphia 76ers center Samuel Dalembert has a stress fracture in his left foot but is expected to participate when the team opens training camp in early October.
An MRI on Wednesday revealed the fracture. Dalembert will wear a cast for the next three weeks.
“We will closely monitor Sam’s status over the next three weeks, but we anticipate that he will be ready to return to the court in time for the start of training camp,” said team president Billy King.
Dalembert averaged 10.7 points and 8.9 rebounds while starting all 82 games last season for the Sixers. He played in the recent FIBA Americas tournament for the Canadian team that lost in the quarterfinals.
The Sixers opens training camp Oct. 2 at Duke University.
