SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - The Saratoga Springs Police Department says Charlotte Bobcats assistant coach Bob Beyer was charged with resisting arrest Thursday night following an altercation with bouncers at Gaffney's bar.
The 51-year-old Beyer was also charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct. All the charges are misdemeanors.
According to a police department press release, Beyer's acquaintance, Edward Parenteau, allegedly assaulted one of the bouncers and ``Beyer and (Ryan) Chartrand attempted to stop officers from arresting Parenteau and they were arrested. Beyer then began fighting with the police and was charged accordingly.''
The Bobcats issued a statement Saturday saying ``We are aware of the incident. It is a legal matter and we will have no further comment until the legal process has run its course.''
