ATLANTA (AP) - The Hawks have selected point guard Raul Neto of Brazil with the 47th overall pick in the NBA draft.
Neto, 21, averaged 8.0 points and 2.8 assists this season for Lagun Aro GBC in a Spanish league.
Pending NBA approval of a proposed trade earlier Thursday night, the Hawks also were likely to acquire the rights to Bucknell center Mike Muscala, whom Dallas took with the 44th pick.
The 6-foot-11, 234-pound Muscala averaged 18.7 points and 11.1 rebounds in his senior year at Bucknell.
Neto was the second point guard drafted by Atlanta, which took Dennis Schroeder of Germany 17th overall.
Atlanta was waiting for NBA approval to a proposed trade that would send the rights to center Lucas Nogueira of Brazil and Muscala to the Hawks.
