MILWAUKEE (AP) – The Milwaukee Bucks have selected Providence guard Ricky Ledo with their second pick and 43rd overall in the NBA draft.
Ledo, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard, did not play a single minute at Providence last season because he was rated a partial qualifier by the NCAA, although he did practice with the team.
The Bucks drafted 18-year-old Giannis Antetokounmpo, a 6-9 forward from Greece, in the first round, failing to address their backcourt need. Shooting guard Monta Ellis, the team’s leading scorer last season, opted out of his contract to become a free agent. In addition, starting point guard Brandon Jennings is a restricted free agent, as is reserve guard J.J. Redick.
